NEVER HAD A BETTER

The lineage of Allan G Heaton, respected sheepdog trial enthusiast and Yorkshire farmer can be traced back 1000 years.
This story uncovers the people, places and historical events that made him who he was.
From the early Viking origins to settling down in Bronte country, the story explores how the family fortunes fluctuated from the heights of influence as medieval knights to the depths of life in the Workhouse.
A family whose loyalty cannot be questioned, prepared to forfeit their lives for King and country, and give their unselfish support to any causes that they believed in.

The chapel in Haworth church, although now filled with Bronte memorials, records on the stained glass windows within the Bronte chapel, the Heaton family's association with the place from 1560 to 1897, from the first Andrew of Oldsnap to the last Robert of Ponden.
